Ute Tribal Flag

• The word Ute means "Land of the Sun"
• There are currently around 3,500 Ute Indians living on reservations in Utah, and they own 1,300,000 acres of land
• The Ute tribe manages one of the largest herds of buffalo in the United States
  
• The Ute tribe established its own high school in 1997, Uintah River High School, for students living on the reservation
• Utes do many dances on many different subjects
